Slot Recommender API

A slot is a narrow opening, as in a machine or container. It can also mean a position or time in a schedule, scheme, etc. I booked a ticket for a concert at 7:00 pm. I’m glad I got a slot for that early show.

A slot can also refer to a position in a game or sport, especially American football. For example, there is a specific type of cornerback in football called the “slot corner”. These players have unique responsibilities and traits that outside receivers do not share.

To play a slot machine, you insert your payment (cash or, in some machines, a paper ticket with a barcode) into a slot and then activate it by pressing a lever or button. The reels spin, and if you land on a winning combination, you receive credits based on the pay table. Most slot machines have a theme, and the symbols on the reels usually align with that theme. Some have jackpots that can increase the size of your win.

The slot recommender API buckets your historical usage data into percentiles and then calculates the cost and performance tradeoff of different purchase options. This information is returned in the form of a recommendation, such as 2500 slots at 99%. This option costs less but may result in lower performance during peak times. A more expensive option, on the other hand, might provide better performance but may not save you any costs.
